Susan Schaefer, our beloved mom recently passed away, leaving a tremendous void in our lives. She was the sole caretaker of my disabled brother, Josh, whom she cared for with unwavering dedication. She was not only his caretaker, but his biggest advocate, and his greatest champion — and her loss has left our family with the important responsibility of ensuring he continues to receive the care he needs.

In lieu of flowers, our mom's request is that you help offset the costs of medical and adaptive equipment upgrades for Josh as he moves forward into a new chapter. She also believed deeply in lifelong learning, and shortly before she passed, she expressed her hope that Josh would continue to pursue professional certificates; a goal we are committed to helping him reach. Our mom was the kindest, most selfless person. She was always putting her children first and lifting everyone around her. The best way we know to honor her is to come together for Josh, just as she always did. Any contribution, large or small, means the world to our family. Thank you so much for your love and support.
