Support for Joseph’s Trattoria

Hi, everyone… it’s Gina. I'm not sure if you have heard by now, but my sister’s Deanna’s restaurant, Joseph's Trattoria, was part of the severe flooding that occurred on Tuesday, August 8th. The city storm drains across from her restaurant were completely overwhelmed with the intense rains, and they erupted like a geyser. The water flowed with full, river like intensity directly at and into Joseph's. Within about 45 minutes, Joseph's had over 3 1/2 feet of water inside and outside the building. It was so terrible. They scrambled to try and save anything they could, trying to push water out of the restaurant, but it was relentless. As they tried to navigate these uncharted waters (literally) they received the devastating news that they are not in a flood zone and because of that they do not have flood insurance, so none of the loss is covered. NOTHING was covered.

This is what my sister wrote in the days following the flooding…

“So it is with great sadness that I share we will not be reopening at our current location, the loss is too great to attempt to repair and rebuild there.”

On Sunday night, to add insult to injury, the restaurant was broken into as well. My sister is heartbroken, and so overwhelmed. I have been thinking and thinking of what I can do to help her and although I have never ever done a Go Fund Me before I thought I would give it a try. I know there are so many people who love Joseph’s and love her ❤️ Joseph’s has been part of the Haverhill community for decades, and I’m hoping those who have enjoyed and love her Restaurant might possibly donate a little to help out. Even the smallest amount will help :) I KNOW she will come back from this better than ever, but in the meantime, it is pretty overwhelming and disheartening for her so I wanted to try to give her something positive during this difficult time… Thank you all so so much in advance ❤️
