Support for Josephine Guzman's medical expenses

Josephine Guzman is suffering from Cavernous Sinus Thrombosis (a syndrome, usually secondary to infections near the eye or nose, characterized by orbital edema, venous congestion of the eye, and palsy of the nerves supplying the extra ocular muscles).  The infection may spread to involve the cerebro-spinal fluid and meninges.  Treatment involves antibiotics and sometimes anticoagulants.  It is a serious condition and is caused by the backward spread of infection from the veins of the face or eye socket into an important venous channel, the cavernous sinus, within the skull.  Intensive antibiotics are necessary to save the life of the patient.  

Josephine is diabetic.  Several weeks ago, she suffered from severe pain on the left side of her face and a few days later, she was rushed to the hospital.  Bacteria from  an abscessed tooth had spread to her left eye and some areas under the brain.  That bacteria has caused blindness and and has spread out within the hard palate.  The doctors say that the risk of permanent blindness is high and medication may not bring back her normal vision.  She has been in the hospital for  over 3 weeks.  Similar to someone that has experienced a stroke, this infection has affected her mobility, speech, face, vision, swallowing, and bathroom abilities.  She can only stand with assistance.  Since last week, she has has received high doses of antibiotics and other medicines in order to fight the bacteria.  These medicines are very costly.  There are also many bills for hospitals, doctors, specialists, and tests.  She will also need a MRI which is 4 hours away, as well as maintenance antibiotics, therapy, and nursing care.  She is a widow with no health insurance and is unemployed.  The Guzman family needs financial support.  We just want to knock on your doors and generous hearts to ask for help with this battle.  We are asking for your kind consideration and understanding .  Thank you so much!
