Hello my name is Belinda and im creating this account on behalf of my aunts family. On the morning of Tuesday May the 5th my uncle Jorge Ruiz was detained by ICE. He called my aunt right away when three unmarked vehicles behind him flashed their lights. The only thing he was able to tell my aunt was that he believed he had been pulled over by ICE. My aunt remained on the phone and states that the first question he was asked was if he had a work permit. He didn’t commit a traffic violation nor was he charged with anything. No prior criminal history. No order of deportation. His only mistake was being a hard worker and sole provider for his family. He has now been transferred to Louisiana and leaves behind his wife and his son who both have medical conditions that limit my aunt from working which is why he strived to make a comfortable living for the three of them. We have had multiple people reach out in regards to wanting to lend a hand but due to world we live in they fear in commuting anywhere. Which is why we’re creating this GoFundMe. Today, we ask for your support during this very difficult time. Any donation no matter how small or large it will mean the world to us. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign would also help us tremendously. All funds raised will be used to help keep up with household bills and cover medical expenses for my aunt and cousin. While they decide as a family the next step for them.

Hola, mi nombre es Belinda y estoy creando esta cuenta en nombre de la familia de mi tía. En la mañana del martes 5 de mayo, mi tío Jorge Ruiz fue detenido por ICE. Llamó a mi tía de inmediato cuando tres vehículos encubiertos, que circulaban detrás de él, encendieron sus luces. Lo único que pudo decirle a mi tía fue que creía haber sido detenido por ICE. Mi tía permaneció al teléfono y relata que la primera pregunta que le hicieron fue si tenía permiso de trabajo. No cometió ninguna infracción de tránsito ni se le imputó cargo alguno. No tiene antecedentes penales. No existe ninguna orden de deportación en su contra. Su único error fue ser un hombre muy trabajador y el único sustento de su familia. Ahora ha sido trasladado a Louisiana , dejando atrás a su esposa y a su hijo; ambos padecen de condiciones médicas que impiden a mi tía trabajar, razón por la cual él se esforzaba por brindarles una vida digna y cómoda a los tres. Varias personas se han puesto en contacto con nosotros para brindar su ayuda, pero, debido a todo lo que esta sucediendo con las leyes migratorias que nos afectan a todos. Se entiende que no es fácil viajar a dejar su ayuda con mi Tia razón por cual se está creando este GoFundMe. Hoy les pedimos su apoyo en este momento tan difícil.
