On Sunday Morning something so Tragic happened to our family.

My Nephew Jonathan Delgado Was shot And killed By The Phoenix Police Department.

My Nephew Was mentally ill, he Was going through A lot of Mental health Issues.

That Morning My Nephew left our house so I drove around the block to look for him until I finally did, at that moment he was jumping on the other side of the fence Of the alley. I Called 911 To Help me Calm and stop my nephew from Hurting himself. On The 911 call I let them know he was mentally ill he was no harm to me or to anyone only to himself. As the police approached I told him my nephew is hurting himself he’s already cutting himself, as more officers approached my husband arrived there too and told the cops to let him talk to him first, he knows how to calm him down. All they said was “ if we need you then will let you” they being to approach my nephew I didn’t hear not one word of “this is the police we are here to help” there was no communication at all, my nephew was either laying down or sitting down. Once he heard the foot steps of the officers he stood up pointing the knife at himself not once at the police officers. He began to hurt himself. When all of a sudden we heard gun shots.

Phoenix Police Didn’t not help him at all not once try to talk to him or use any strategy to help him. My Nephew didn’t deserve to die like this.

My Nephew Jonathan was Such A Sweet loving Soul, he always looked out for his Family, Family Was Everything to Him He Was The Protector Of his Mother and Sibling. He was that type of Person that would always put everyone else before him. He loved so deeply.
