As many know, the government shutdown began 30 days ago, this has left many families who are paid by the government in situations beyond their control. Some have savings to fall back on, but others like Jon and Amanda are coming out of an unimaginable and heartbreaking season that has left them without financial reserves to depend on during this time without pay.
While some government workers will receive back pay, Jon will not, as his next contract was scheduled to be signed the same week the shutdown began. Jon has been taking on as many side jobs as possible, while Amanda is in her third year of school and works part-time at their daughter’s school.
As they continue to follow the Lord and trust Him, we are asking you to join us in coming together for the Cintron family. The funds raised will help cover their monthly expenses and assist with medical bills Amanda has incurred due to recent health challenges.
These funds will be a tremendous blessing to Jon, Amanda, and their girls. They wrestled with the idea of allowing us to start this GoFundMe, knowing that so many families are also struggling and not wanting to be a burden… But through prayer, God moved on their hearts to surrender this need to Him and allow others to come alongside them. As we reminded them, as their brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to carry one another’s burdens. Whether through financial help, prayer, or in any other way the Lord leads.
Jon and Amanda and their girls are so precious to many of us. They have clung to the Lord through every battle they have endured. As they grieve their precious little girl, Ezra, they have faithfully chosen to rise each day, to work hard, and to press forward by God’s love, strength, grace, and mercy. They hold your prayers close to their hearts, knowing that “the fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much”. Your prayers are felt and have upheld their arms and strengthened them day after day.
We are deeply thankful for everyone who has chosen to give, whether through a financial gift or prayer. It is humbling for Jon and Amanda to lean on others during this season, but they are deeply moved and forever grateful for the love, encouragement, and support that has surrounded their family. As they continue to follow and trust the Lord, we are confident that they will never be abandoned or left without provision. Thank you for all your love and support, it means more than you know.
Our hearts and prayers are with all who are affected by the government shutdown and those facing financial hardship. May Jehovah Jireh, our faithful Provider, make a way where there seems to be no way and pour out His peace and provision over you.
