My mother, Joice Scott, passed away unexpectedly on January 2nd. She adopted her great-niece and nephews in 2017; they’re 15, 12, and 11. Her apartment complex is trying to evict her on the 20th of January, which would also have been her 73rd birthday. I want to do right by my mom, but it’s not cheap raising teenagers and planning a funeral at the same time. My mom was the sweetest, most selfless, and caring woman I have ever known.
