Hi all, I’m Dylan, Johnnie Mae Dunlap’s grandson.

On August 14th, my grandmother Johnnie passed away at Fort Sanders at the amazing age of 98. She lived a long, good, Christian life and, sadly, outlived all of her immediate family members.

Johnnie was an RN for 30 years and a member of the Salvation Army church since the early 1950s. She helped countless people, including me, not only in their relationship with God but in so many other aspects of life.

Unfortunately, Johnnie didn’t have life insurance, funeral arrangements, or any savings set aside for these expenses. In recent years, she was scammed multiple times, and being the kindhearted woman she was, she gave away nearly everything she had to people she thought were in need. She now has only a few hundred dollars left in her account to help with costs, and I’m not in a position to cover the majority of the expenses on my own.

If anyone has any information about Johnnie’s past, such as relatives, details about her husband Charles, or anything else, I’d be so grateful to hear it.

Any additional funds beyond the funeral costs will go toward other related expenses for Johnnie, such as purchasing urns or memorial items. If there is still money left over, it will help me (Dylan) recover from lost time and expenses while arranging everything.
