On behalf of my cousin Pamela and her family, we are heartbroken to share the sudden passing of her husband, Johnathan Gorbea on March 22, 2026, at just 40 years old.
Johnathan had a deep love for nature and found peace in the outdoors, often spending his time hiking and exploring. Tragically, his life was cut short during one of these outings due to extreme heat conditions.
Johnathan dedicated many years of his life in service to others—both as a member of the Navy and as a Department of Defense civilian. His commitment, work ethic, and impact did not go unnoticed, as he was honored with multiple awards, including the FY24 and FY25 Navy Civilian Service Commendation Medals.
Above all, Johnathan was a father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his two children, his family, and all who loved him. His sudden passing has left an unimaginable void in their lives.
During this incredibly difficult and unexpected time, the family is asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward honoring Johnathan’s life and easing the financial burden on his loved ones.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page and keeping his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
