Dear everyone,
For the first time, please allow me to send everyone a very holy Lenten season. I am John Tran. I am a seminarian and I am currently studying in the Philippines. I met my friend, Andrew Tran, when he came to Vietnam in Summer 2024. We taught English together at a parish in Thanh Hóa. My family has 5 children. My parents are sick. My father has liver cancer. He is being treated every day. Mom has blurred vision and also needs treatment with eye surgery. My father's name is Peter Tran and my mother's name is Martha Truong.
So I am writing this letter to ask that you, ladies and gentlemen, to help my parents because the amount of money for treatment is so expensive that our family cannot afford it. Taking care of my parents, I have 5 brothers, but 3 of them became monks. The total cost for my parents' medical treatment is $5,000 USD (130,500,000 VND). My religious community will help me pay 70% of the costs, but I will need help fundraising the remaining costs. That is why I am kindly asking for your donation today.
I sincerely thank you and wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year, and a holy and virtuous Lenten season. May God bless you, ladies and gentlemen, all of you.
Sincerely,
John Tran (Trung)
