Come share stories and memories!
On Thursday, April 13, 2023, John was at work at Bills Pub in Mundelein, IL where he has worked for almost 20 years where he started to feel ill.
John had been dealing with what he thought was a cold and indigestion but come to find out, it was Pulminary Edema & Heart Failure.
Leaving work that Thursday, he drove himself to Condell Hospital in Libertyville, IL. He barely made it through the doors of the Emergency Room where he went into cardiac arrest.
The Emergency Room team rushed to John’s aid, not knowing what was wrong administering CPR and were able to resuscitate him.
Since his resuscitation, John has been in a coma. He was medically induced and as of 4/19/23 they started to taper him off the sedative. Initially this caused John to have a seizure but has now successfully been completely removed from sedation.
We’re hopeful everyday and grasping on any small sign of “improvement”.
The doctors are suspecting possible brain damage from oxygen deprivation from his cardiac arrest due to a fever that has started but at this time we’re not sure to what extent.
I created the Gofundme for John and Tyler to help support them in any way we can. We’re not sure what the next few days hold but John wasn’t prepared to leave his son this early. His son, my nephew, Tyler has been by his side everyday waiting for his dad to return to him.
Tyler is the sweetest nephew any aunt could ask for. We’re by his side to support him in any way we can but he lives with Asperger Syndrome and has never lived without his dads support.
Please help us help John and Tyler for navigating what the future may hold. I’ll post updates as we learn them.
