In loving memory of John Paul Rousanidis (March 26, 1992 – January 30, 2026). John was born in Salem, Massachusetts, and raised in Peabody until he was eight years old. He spent the rest of his childhood and young adult years growing up in Greece, before returning to Massachusetts to be with his beloved family and friends and to chase his dreams. John loved fishing, boxing, and enjoying life to the fullest he was very passionate about the sea . He was an amazing brother, son, and uncle—a hard worker who never said no to anyone he met His kindness, determination, and generosity inspired everyone around him.
John’s late fathers are John Francis Brown and his stepfather, Paul Rousanidis. He leaves behind three sisters: Paula Rousanidis, Keri Rousanidis, and Lisa Russo; two brothers: Michael Brown and Paulo Rousanidis 5 beautiful nieces who loved him dearly and 3 nephews friends and extended family and his mother Ann rousanidis who is grieving him the most. John’s presence brought so much joy and strength to our family, and his loss leaves a void that can never be filled.
On January 30th, John was lost at sea on the Lily Jean following a maritime incident off the coast of Gloucester. The U.S. Coast Guard conducted search and rescue efforts, and while official determinations are still pending, our family has been informed of his passing. We are creating this fundraiser during an unimaginably painful and uncertain time, as we begin to process this sudden loss while awaiting formal procedures to be completed.
We are seeking support to help with funeral arrangements, and the financial challenges that follow such a sudden loss. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference for our family as we navigate this difficult journey. We greatly appreciate your support, understanding, and prayers at this tragic time.
