Support for John Mumper’s Journey Beyond COVID-19
Donation protected
John Mumper was very ill for several days before his wife, Terri, took him to the ER at Geisinger Medical center on Sunday, August 9. John had been awaiting previous test results, but the ER confirmed that he had COVID-19. He was admitted to the ICU and remains there now, fighting a brave battle with progress followed by set-backs, well described as a roller-coaster experience. Obviously, no one can visit John, but he and Terri’s faith in God, unending offerings of prayer from others, and love from family and friends is sustaining them. The timing is uncertain right now, but all are praying that he recovers well enough to move to the next step down in the medical process toward his journey home to Terri.
I felt personally led to start this fundraiser to help with their journey beyond COVID-19 from a financial perspective. The hope is to ease the stress and burden which will, in turn, help with healing. They are praising God that Terri could confirm the medical expenses will be covered through insurance and otherwise. However, many of you know that John is self-employed as a counselor through the mission of his organization, Abundant Life Services. John has helped so many through his work as a Christian counselor and his many years in ministry. God has used him mightily to counsel so many of us in our greatest time of need, and it now seems so appropriate to be able to give back to him.
The counseling services were already limited by the pandemic, and now with his serious illness, the modest income he might receive has ended, and there is no way to predict his recovery time. So, this request is intended to provide for some level of financial support during this time of uncertainty.
John, Terri, and their sons/daughter-in-laws (Eric & Alicia, Craig & Shana, and Kyle & Sarah) are blessed by all of the prayers and support in so many tangible ways. This is all very humbling and they wanted to share that any money received beyond what is needed for sustaining them through John’s full recovery will be redirected to his fund for Abundant Life Services that helps offset the cost for counseling sessions for those with financial limitations.
John, Terri and family thank you for the love that is being shown in so many ways! I thank you for considering this opportunity if you are able. May God bless you all.
