On October 4, 2026, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. My brother-in-law, John Meise, was just 36 years old when he suddenly collapsed while running the Milwaukee half marathon. A fellow runner immediately stepped in to help, and EMTs and medical staff did everything they could, but John could not be revived.

John was the center of his family's world. He was a husband, father, son, brother, and so much more. If you knew John, you loved John. He had a way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for, and his presence made a difference in the lives of so many. His loss has left an enormous hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him, especially the family he loved more than anything.

This fundraiser is for John's family as they face the painful days ahead and begin to navigate life without him. Donations will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, provide support for the family's immediate and ongoing needs, and help care for John's four children as they move forward without their father.
