I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease after three years of testing. During that time, I continued working as a therapist for children in foster care, but eventually I could no longer fulfill my job duties because both my legs were paralyzed and the disease affected my cognitive ability. I lost my job and received disability for a year, but that has ended. I have also been the victim of identity theft, and no one will take accountability. I used my retirement savings to keep up with bills, but I continue to have thousands of dollars in medical bills I cannot pay. My significant other of 20 years left me and my daughter without warning, leaving us with significant credit card debt and a car loan. My daughter may not be able to continue her third year in college because we do not qualify for financial aid, and I have no credit left, couldn't pay my last mortgage bill, and am unsure what to do next.

My daughter comes first—she has just five days before she may be asked to leave college. I have applied for loans but cannot get approved due to my credit score. Funds will help us get through the next three months, support my daughter's education, help with work on the house to create a rental unit, and pay down medical bills. My monthly social security is not enough to cover our mortgage, so I am struggling to keep up.
