My husband, John Burgin, has always been the main provider for our family. In December, he came down with the flu, and we never imagined it would lead to something so serious. By February, we learned that the illness had caused heart failure. Since then, John has been in the hospital in San Antonio, fighting for his life. He currently has a temporary heart pump and is waiting for an LVAD, which will allow him to be placed on the heart transplant list.
This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. I am doing my best to be by John’s side at the hospital while also working to keep our household afloat. With John unable to work, we are facing mounting medical bills, health insurance costs, travel expenses to and from the hospital, and all of our regular housing bills. The uncertainty of what comes next is overwhelming, but we are holding onto hope and faith.
We are asking for lots and lots of prayers—that God will touch John’s heart and heal it, so he may recover without needing a transplant. If you are able, any support you can offer will help us manage the financial burden and allow me to focus on John’s recovery. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and generosity during this challenging journey.
