Thank you for taking the time to view our fundraiser on behalf of Johanna Purganan and her family. All proceeds will go directly to her father, Isagani Purganan. We will update this page with details of her service once they are confirmed.

On the evening of October 18th, Johanna Purganan—beloved daughter of Isagani and Ikuko Minoura Purganan, sister to Junshin, devoted mother to Aaron Dean, and fiancée to Dalton—passed away unexpectedly at 24 years old.

Those who knew Johanna through school, band, work, and her church community describe her as kind, funny, and exceptionally bright. Her passing has left a profound shock and deep sadness among everyone who loved her.

Johanna was born and raised in Kingston, NY and grew up in the Mid Hudson Valley Church. She was active in Tong Il Moo Do martial arts, youth group, and the music team. Johanna was also a dedicated part of Sunday services, running AV and sound production with her dad and volunteering wherever she was needed—frequently arriving early and staying late to help.

A 2019 graduate of Kingston High School, Johanna was involved in Key Club, the Jefferson Committee, Marching Band, Orchestra, and the French Honor Society, all while dual-enrolled at SUNY Ulster. After the birth of their son, she and Dalton moved to Tennessee to be closer to extended family.

We are asking for support during this difficult time to help with travel, medical expenses, memorial arrangements, and family support.

We also ask that you keep Isagani, Ikuko, Junshin, Aaron and Dalton in your prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
