My dad, Joe, has always been a source of strength and love for our family. He dedicated 37 years to General Motors Powertrain at Hydramatic in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and spent his life caring and providing for his wives, parents, his children, siblings, and anyone else who ever needed help.

Joe would give the shirt off his back to help someone.

Anyone who knows my dad knows he is passionate about Detroit Tigers baseball, Pistons basketball, and was a two-time Livingston County 9 ball pool champion. He loves feeding birds, keeping up with current events, and cherishes his Native American heritage. He had the chance to travel to Japan, Germany, France, and the Bahamas, and loved family vacations to Florida many Christmas vacations. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed countless camping, hunting, and fishing trips with his family and friends. Joe’s love for animals is clear in the many pets he’s cared for over the years. To name a few: Tasha, Toby, Tara, Taz, Ozzie, Serge, Aurora, Mama Rose, Lyle, Hopper, Jupiter, Tana, Joker, Spike, Annie (their Clydesdale), other rescue horses, his ducks, goats: Friday and Felix, and so many others, but especially his African Grey Parrot, Ben, of 20 years, He also found joy riding his motorcycle, with his best friend Kevin, whom he shot pool along side my sister for many years. He also LOVES Bob Segar more than words can describe. He saw them back in 1980 while my mom was 9 months pregnant with my sister, and in 1996 I bought my parents and sister 6th row tickets to see him together ❤️ I have his best of playlist on repeat for dad.

I’m sad he’s unable to do much of these things any longer and we are reaching out for support.

Recently, Joe’s health has declined rapidly due to advanced prostate cancer that has spread throughout his body and is now affecting his brain, kidneys, bladder, bones and liver. He has been in hospice care for a short while, and will be staying at my home, where my partner Jack and I are going to provide him with 24-hour support, love and care.

Update: Joe is on comfort meds only and his last hours/day is soon. I am dropping down to part time hours and then taking a leave to regroup. Any donations would be for me to cover my expenses for the next couple weeks.

We are deeply grateful for any financial help, as it will allow us to keep Joe comfortable and surrounded by love until he leaves this world. Your support means so much to our family during this difficult time.
