Joel was a father, teacher, and coach. He loved kids and dedicated his life to young people, including his daughter Jeanie. He spent his life raising his daughter alone, after losing his beloved wife Jackie when Jeanie was 22 months old. A type 1 diabetic, Joel recently had foot surgery in order to save it. As he was recovering at home, his heart began to fail. After 2 weeks at Froedtert Medical Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, his heart and kidneys could not go on any longer. Jeanie and her family are devastated emotionally, and looking at picking up the pieces in the aftermath of his sudden and tragic death. The last thing that Joel would want is for his daughter to have the financial burden that goes with medical and end of life costs.
Jeanie is in her last semester of college and is following in her father’s footsteps, as she finishes her student teaching and looks ahead to a career as a teacher. She interrupted many days of student teaching to be at his side with her family. Her graduation from college is in 5 short weeks, and she hopes to be able to receive her degree at that time. Let’s help Jeanie now, and show her how much we appreciate the impact that her father had on our lives, and the lives of his many students, football players, and boys at Rawhide Boys Ranch.
