My sister JoAnn has always been the kind of person who quietly supports those around her. She’s lived a simple life, deeply connected to nature, her children, and her grandchildren. Even in tough times, JoAnn has picked herself up and kept going, often doing without so that others could have a little more comfort. Her independence and strength have always been an inspiration to me!
Recently, JoAnn was diagnosed with a neurological disorder called FND, which has left her disabled and unable to work. It took a long time for her to get a diagnosis and begin treatment, and during that time, her financial situation became very difficult. The challenges have prevented her from experiencing so many of the things in life that she enjoys. Now, as she faces many treatments ahead, she needs help to cover her basic necessities—housing, utilities, food, and getting to her appointments—while she goes through treatment and recovery. This support will help JoAnn avoid eviction and selling any more of her personal belongings, giving her the stability she needs to focus on healing and moving towards returning to work. Our hope is that this short-term help for the next three months will give her the chance to recover and regain her independence.
We’re reaching out to our community for help because JoAnn has always given so much of herself to others. Any support you can offer will make a real difference in her life and help her through this challenging time. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
