Support for Joanne Meredith

Hi, my name is Victoria and Jo has been a special friend of mine for almost 25 years.

This weekend (15th June) Jo and her lovely girls, Caitlin and Connie, were made homeless. Jo is unable to access any of her belongings and is facing in uncertain future.

Jo is an extremely kind, supportive and hardworking person. She is a well known pillar of the keynsham community and is always at the forefront of Keynsham Light Opera Group and the Phoenix Youth Theatre . Any contribution you can make to help support Jo and her family through this very difficult period would be amazing.

So yesterday-mine and my girls lives were turned upside down and changed forever.

Within a few hours, we sadly lost our home and possibly everything we own. We are standing in just the clothes we are wearing.

The important thing is me, the girls and Bobdog are safe!

We are currently homeless but safe in emergency accommodation in Keynsham and Banes Crisis team were amazing in finding us somewhere to live for the next couple of days.

On Monday morning, we will be having a meeting with the crisis team to sort the next accommodation and a future plan.

The fire brigade, police, and all services on scene were incredible!

Tracey English and Laura Caines you were both amazing! I don’t know what we would have done without you!

We are so lucky that my kids have a wonderful dad, Neil, and a good friend to me, who was there all day with us yesterday.

Thank you to his partner Alison Smith who went above and beyond to help us also.

Thank you also to Neil’s brother Paul Meredith who stepped in and was appointed the structural engineer on site to liaise with the fire service and the council when a major incident was declared.

So…………feeling a bit heartbroken and in shock, and life is probably going to be uncertain for a while but we are safe, together and that’s all that matters
