If you knew Jimmy Dale Lattie, chances are he made you laugh, handed you a cold beer, or offered up one of his classic one-liners-usually all three. A man full of heart, grit, and a little bit of mischief, Jim lived life on his terms and made sure those around him knew they were loved.

Born on October 20, 1963, in Oklahoma City to Jimmy Leon Lattie and Judy Coleen (O'Byrne), Jim grew up in Glenpool, where he graduated high school and started building the kind of life most folks only dream of-simple, honest, and full of family. He met the love of his life, Maria Talamantes, while working at Bartlett-Collins glass plant in Sapulpa. Their partnership spanned more than two decades before they officially tied the knot in 2017. Together, they created a joyful life with their blended family on their one-acre slice of heaven just outside of town in Kiefer.

Jim was a Harley man to the core, happiest with the wind in his face and the open road ahead. When not riding, you could find him hiding out in his man cave and enjoying the peace of home-his favorite kind of vacation. He had a way of spoiling the kids, whether buying four-wheelers and go-carts or building a fire pit big enough for the whole family. He especially loved taking the family on trips to explore the caves-though he'd joke about the heights on the drive there every time.

Jim was proud of the life he and Maria built. He was a provider, a protector, and a teacher. He marked each of his children's graduations with the gift of a car, a symbol of his pride and love. But Jim didn't just give material things-he shared lessons. Like the time Adrian and Jaime tore up the yard doing donuts. Jim let them enjoy it, then made them fix every single hole. "Everything comes at a cost," he'd say with a grin.

He passed from this life on June 4, 2025, leaving behind a family he adored. He is survived by his wife, Maria Lattie; and children: Veronica Marquez, Adrian Marquez (Kindra), Yese Murray (Paul), Jaime Marquez (April), Elizabeth Exum (Aaron), and Anthony Lattie. He was the proud "Papa" to nine grandchildren: Kingston, Ellyanna, and Roman Pointer; Sophia and Sebastian Marquez; Micah Murray; and Logan Lewis, Paige Lewis, and Milena Marquez. And of course, he was loved by his grandpup, Millie, and grandcat, Terry Lattie. Jim is also survived by his sisters: Diana Lattie and Sherry Lattie; along with his niece and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded by his sister, Karen Lattie.

Jim's stubborn streak, quick wit, and deep love for his family will be missed more than words can express. He left a legacy of laughter, life lessons, and the importance of doing things your own way-even if it takes six months.
