Support for Jim & Patty Blaine after a house fire
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Generous Hearts,
On May 27th, our beloved parents, Jim and Patty Blaine, faced a devastating moment when a fire broke out at their home. While the damage is extensive and the loss is heartbreaking, we are standing in awe of one enormous blessing: by the grace of God, no one was home at the time, and everyone is safe.
This home was more than just a house. It held decades of laughter, traditions, milestones, quiet mornings, and countless moments of love. In just a few hours, not only was their home lost, but also both vehicles, their camper, Jim’s workshop and tools, and years of irreplaceable belongings and family treasures.
And yet…they are not defeated. Jim and Patty are standing strong in their faith. They continue to approach each day with courage, hope, and trust in God’s plan. Their strength and peace come not from what they’ve lost, but from Who they know will provide in every storm.
As their children—Tony & Maria Fotiu and Jim & Jody Blaine—we’ve been so moved by how many people have reached out asking, “How can we help?”
We understand that in times of great trial, love shows up in many forms, and we’re so grateful for the way family, friends, and the community want to come together to support those who are hurting. First and foremost, we ask for your prayers. We deeply believe in the power of prayer, and we know it is the strongest support anyone can offer. Please pray for peace, clarity, strength, and comfort for Jim and Patty, and for all of us as we walk through this season.
After much consideration, prayer, and support from those who have gone through similar situations, we feel the best way to support is by creating a GoFundMe.
Examples of Expenses this GoFundMe will Cover:
• Personal items lost (clothing, shoes, electronics, sentimental items)
• Any out-of-pocket insurance gaps
• Temporary housing costs beyond what insurance allows (extended stays, utilities, etc.)
• Cleaning and debris removal
• Storage units for salvaged belongings
• Meals and groceries during displacement
• Transportation costs (lost vehicles, extra gas from temporary housing)
• Replacement of sentimental or non-insured items (holiday décor, photo albums, keepsakes)
• Costs associated with rebuilding delays (permits, fees, temporary accommodations)
Though the storm has hit hard, our family is standing strong in faith, believing that God will bring victory through it. We know this is not the end of their story; this is the beginning of a testimony that will declare God’s goodness and provision in powerful ways.
From the depths of our hearts, thank you for loving our parents, Jim and Patty. Your kindness, your prayers, and your support mean so much, and we truly believe that what was lost will be restored in greater ways than we can even imagine.
Please feel free to share and we will post updates through GoFundMe during the journey ahead.
With all our love,
Tony & Maria Fotiu
