My brother Jim Melton recently suffered a devastating accident. While working, he fell off a roof and had to be airlifted to Prisma Health Richland Hospital. The fall left him with three broken ribs on his left side, which caused his lung to collapse, and fractures on both sides of his pelvis. The doctors have said it will be at least six weeks before he can begin to heal, and he will need to be in the hospital for two weeks or more. During this time, Jim is unable to work, and as the bills start to pile up, the stress on him and his family grows each day.

Jim and his family live in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, but the accident happened in Prosperity, South Carolina, and he is now being treated in Columbia. This means extra travel and living expenses for his loved ones as they support him through his recovery. The funds raised will go directly toward medical bills, living expenses, food, and gas—helping Jim and his family focus on healing instead of worrying about how to make ends meet.
