Jim Carpenter grew up in the small town of Smethport, PA, and after graduating from Smethport Jr/Sr High School in 1982, he proudly served his country in the US Army. Today, Jim lives in Vine Grove, KY, with his devoted wife, Tammy. Sadly, Jim is now facing the devastating effects of FTD Dementia, a condition that is slowly shrinking his brain and making everyday life incredibly challenging.

Despite his years of service, not all of Jim’s medications are covered, and his care needs have become overwhelming. Jim requires 24-hour supervision, and most nursing homes are not equipped to provide the specialized support he needs. Tammy has been by his side every step of the way, but the emotional and financial toll is immense.

The SAHS Class of 1982 is coming together to support Jim and Tammy during this dark time. We are raising funds to help cover the cost of Jim’s medications and to hire the help Tammy needs to care for him at home.
