Our dear friend and colleague Diane Crumley passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and community generosity.

Diane had been diagnosed with a fast-moving, aggressive form of cancer that didn't respond to chemo or other interventions. Throughout her illness, Jim and Diane navigated her diagnosis quietly, focusing on supporting each other and tending to Diane’s 100-year-old mother, for whom they have been caregivers. Their strength and devotion have been an inspiration to all who know them.

We, Diane and Jim’s friends and colleagues at Davis Media Access (DMA) and KDRT, are reaching out to ask their extended community to help provide financial support for the inevitable costs brought on by the end of a life. For over two decades, Jim and Diane have enriched our lives through their volunteer work at KDRT 95.7 FM, spreading joy through music and community events. Diane has also been an outreach coordinator for years at DMA. Jim now faces not only saying goodbye to his wife of 29 years, but urgent costs to cover cremation, as well as medical and other bills. Any contribution, regardless of size, would be deeply appreciated and make a significant impact on Jim’s life as he navigates this challenging new chapter.

Diane touched many lives through her work with DMA and KDRT; through her service as a board member for Tree Davis, and many other community efforts. Mirroring her kindness and generosity of spirit is the best gift we can give to Jim at this moment. Please join us in contributing to honor Diane’s legacy of love and service to the beautiful artistic community of Yolo County, and to support Jim in his time of need.
