It’s incredibly hard to put this into words. Our family recently lost my mother, and while we are still trying to process the heartbreak that comes with saying goodbye.

Along with the emotional weight of this loss, we are facing significant unexpected expenses. Unfortunately, my mother hadn’t made any final arrangements ahead of time, and with the consensus of her siblings, we wanted to make sure she got the funeral she would have wanted as much as possible. I am thankful that my uncle was able to add some funds to mine to help me pay the deposit, but there’s still the remaining balance that will be due shortly after her service next Tuesday.

In more digging and talking to the hospital, we are looking at some significant medical bills due to her canceling her secondary health insurance, as well as needing to clear her apartment and pay her final bills.

While asking for help is so incredibly hard, I have been blessed with the fact that so many people loved her, and I was urged to ask on her behalf to ensure she gets the funeral she deserves, and also we get some help financially with the unexpected financial burden.

Any contribution—no matter the amount—will go directly toward the balance of the funeral, prepping for the headstone, and allow all of her family the time to honor her life and memory.
