My name is Chrissy Countie, and I’m reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for my brother James, his significant other, Jessy, and her parents. Jessy’s mom has recently been diagnosed with a rare and devastating degenerative mitochondrial disease. This cruel illness is causing her to lose muscle function, hearing, sight, and cognitive abilities. Sadly, there is no cure, and the disease will progressively worsen over time.
