Dear Friends, Family, and Community,We are reaching out with a heavy heart but a determined spirit. Recently, our sister Jessica was diagnosed with carcinoma cancer. At just 42 years old, she is facing the biggest fight of her life.Like so many busy women, it started with what she thought was just standard aches and pains in her back from getting older. She pushed through it, but doctors have now confirmed it is carcinoma. We are still in the early, overwhelming stages of trying to pinpoint exactly where the cancer started, though it is assumed to be an organ. While there are currently several areas of concern on her scans, we are a family built on strength, and we are fully prepared to kick cancer’s ass together.If you know Jess, you know she is the absolute heartbeat of our family. She wears so many vital hats every single day—she is a devoted mother to her grown children, a loving wife to her husband Shawn, a cherished daughter, granddaughter, and the absolute best aunt to her nieces and nephews. More than just my sibling, she is my absolute best friend and the person I look up to most in this world. Even with her children grown, she remains the core anchor of her household, and we all need her here.Why We Need Your Help To beat this, Jess will need to undergo extensive medical treatments. This journey requires frequent travel to medical centers for specialist care, which will quickly accumulate heavy travel, gas, lodging, and food costs.Because of the physical toll of treatment, Jessica will need full-time support. Shawn will be stepping in to manage the household and care for her, making him the sole income earner for their family during this time.Our family is no stranger to this battle.
