Hello Kaiser Family. I am writing you in hopes of helping one of our own. On March 21st, KWMC L&D nurse Jessica Altman-Pollack experienced every parent's nightmare. Her daughter Diana was in a devastating car accident on her way home from work. The accident was caused by a distracted driver who rear-ended Diana's car, sandwiching her vehicle between two others. Jessica and her family rushed to the hospital after receiving the call that Diana was in the trauma ICU at OHSU. Surrounded by her siblings, Diana was given the best care possible, but within an hour, the neurosurgeon informed the family that Diana had suffered a traumatic brain injury that was inoperable. There was nothing more the doctors could do. Diana is currently on life support as she awaits organ donation, but heartbreakingly, her family has had to say goodbye. She would have turned 22 in just 12 days. Diana was a junior at PSU, excelling in her studies with dreams of becoming a neuropsychologist. She was a voracious reader, especially drawn to stories of dragons and magic, and she loved her family fiercely. She had just started a new job and was excited for her future, with an entire life ahead of her. The grief the Altman-Pollack family is experiencing is unimaginable. In this time of profound loss, we are reaching out to our Kaiser community for support. Your donations will help the family with missed wages and funeral costs as they navigate this heartbreaking journey. If you are able to contribute, any amount would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for holding this family in your thoughts and for any support you can offer.
