It is with the heaviest heart that I write this. In the late evening of October 18th, we said goodbye to our sweet Caitie. She fought the most courageous battle against breast cancer, only learning of her diagnosis four short weeks ago.
Caitie was the best Wife, Mom, Sister, Daughter, Auntie, Friend, Co-worker, and so much more that anyone could ever ask for. She was a hero as a nurse in St. Mary's NICU. She was a calming presence, a bright light, a source of comfort to all who knew her. Her loss is so profound that it hurts for us to even breathe today. Her husband Jesse and her Daughter Cadence will need every ounce of support and love we can give them to find a new normal without her here.
We are deeply thankful for the outpouring of support and love shown to us by every single person who knew her, as well as many who didn't. The number of lives she has touched is awe-inspiring. We especially thank the medical professionals, nurses, and all of her friends at St. Mary's who made sure she was so well cared for in her final days. They did everything they could to try to save her.
We love you so much, Caitie, and we are devastated to be without you.
