Donation protected
On Thursday, October 15, 2020, Jes Bogdan suddenly and tragically lost her beloved fiancé, Alex Gordon. In this time of mourning, her colleagues and friends are looking to raise money to help Jes. We hope to show her love and support and, in some small way, ease one burden.

Despite being a dog person, Alex became an amazing cat dad after meeting Jes while they both worked for the City Paper. The couple would go on dates in Pittsburgh, her hometown and his adopted home, making a point to stay in hotels, "their thing." Whether it was a quest to find the best soup dumplings in Pittsburgh or a night cozying up with the latest show they were watching together with their beloved cat Lily, there was an undeniable, special bond between the two. Alex recently was looking to donate some of his old music equipment for young people, rather than selling it, even though he was furloughed at his job. We remember him this way, and in how easy it was to laugh with him when you had just met him.
Jes and Alex were engaged in on Christmas 2019 and had hoped to spend time looking at wedding venues in his native Westchester County, NY, this month until the pandemic necessitated a change of plans. They were also discussing plans to move closer to his family in the near future, something Jes still wants to pursue.
There are not words adequate to describe the immense loss of Alex. May his memory be a blessing.
