We’re asking for help on behalf of two faithful, hard-working members of our local community: Jerry and Treba Willis.

Jerry has recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and is now facing a series of serious complications — including infection in his colon, a blood clot near his liver, and an unknown blockage in his bowels. Doctors have been working to reduce the swelling and fluid buildup in his abdomen, but even after flushing his system, the fluid returns within hours — and they’re still searching for answers.

Due to the severity of his condition, Jerry is now being transferred to a specialist in Houston, where he is expected to undergo surgery. His wife, Treba, will be traveling with him to be by his side every step of the way.

This journey comes with a heavy financial burden. Jerry is sight-impaired and unable to work, and Treba is the sole provider for their home. As she takes time off work to support her husband, they’re facing mounting expenses:

• Medical bills that have already surpassed $2,000

• Travel costs to and from Houston

• Lodging, meals, and other needs during the hospital stay

• Lost wages from time off work with no set end in sight

Jerry and Treba have long been pillars in the Souls Harbor Church community. Jerry, though sight-impaired, serves faithfully as the church sound technician and drummer, with every dial memorized by heart. Treba is the church secretary and a dedicated member of the worship team. Their lives are marked by humility, service, and quiet strength — always giving, always faithful. They sacrificially give without expecting anything in return.

Now it’s our turn to give back to them.
