The Backstory
Hello, Jeff & Lenore Link here. Jerome Link is Jeff's twin brother. Jerome and his family--wife Karen, son Nick-- were hit with Covid 19 in early April. It wasn't too awfully bad, and everyone seemed to recover in a short time. But Jerome has had some issues that have since been attributed to the virus. He was taken to the hospital after collapsing at work at the end of April, diagnosed with first one blood clot in his brain, then two. With rest and medication, he was sent home. Unfortunately, on May 7, we received a call from Karen that he had fallen at home and wasn't getting up. Jeff went over to help, and when I texted him asking how Jerome was, all he texted back was "Not good". The ambulance/rescue trucks arrived shortly to take Jerome back to the hospital.
The "Fun" Twin
While Jeff and Jerome are very similar, I would say that Jerome is known for being a bit more mischievous. He has a joke for every occasion and loves for people to laugh with him. He's ready with the temporary hair color for every holiday or event, and loves a good party.
But Jerome is also a good brother, a great friend to many, and a generous person. There's nothing he wouldn't give if someone has a need.
Medical Talk
During his most recent hospitalization, Jerome was diagnosed with having a bleed from his clot, stemming from a back-up of blood causing increased pressure in his brain. The medication used for the clot caused his platelet counts to drop, which, along with the increased pressure, caused the bleed. Right now he has motor function loss in his right arm and leg along with some diminished vision in his right eye. Doctors are optimistic, though, that with therapy, he will regain his functions. As you can imagine, the out-of-pocket bills for 2 hospital stays along with the cost of medication can run into the tens of thousands, and to add to that the family is facing the expense of possibly several months at a skilled nursing facility for Jerome.

Now He Needs Your Help
Both Jerome and Karen have had to take extensive time off from their jobs, which has severely decreased their income, which in turn puts them farther and farther behind on their regular bills, with little hope of catching up on the ever-increasing medical bills. We are hoping that with the contributions from family and friends (and friends of friends!) we can let them focus on Jerome getting better, and not have to wonder which bills can be juggled around each time another payment is due.

Please share this with everyone and every group you know! If you can only afford $5, that is still $5 more towards the goal, and maybe the next person you share this with can pledge more! Remember, every little bit helps, and will be greatly appreciated.
We are keeping Jerome and his family in our prayers and we ask the same from you if you are so inclined. Thank you all so much ❤️!
