Jenny Jones - Best friend, daughter, sister, dog mom, lover of Dolly Parton, the outdoors, live music, adventures, writing and making anyone and everyone laugh hysterically. To know her is to love her. If you've known Jenny for years or met her once, chances are she's made a significant impact on you and you still keep in touch with her. She's the funniest person in any group and always life of the party, yet the most empathetic and caring. Jenny is the type of friend who sends a care package to friends in need, gives money to homeless people on the street, remembers all her friends' and their kids' birthdays. She never misses a girls' trip, a wedding, a birthday or a bachelorette party because that's the kind of wonderful person she is. Now our incredible friend Jenny is going through one of the hardest times in her life, and we can't let her go through it alone!
For those that follow Jenny on social media, you've likely seen her posts detailing her discovery of early stage breast cancer (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) and recent lumpectomy procedure. Unfortunately, due to the extent of DCIS, they were unable to get clean margins and have recommended a mastectomy. After doing extensive research, consulting multiple surgeons & oncologists, and finding a great support group of young women with breast cancer, Jenny has decided to move forward with a double mastectomy & reconstruction. As her mom went through a similar diagnosis & treatment in 2008, she knows this will give her the least chance of recurrence and potential for invasive cancer down the road. While this experience has been both mentally and physically draining, it has also been very financially stressful.
To date, the costs of ultrasound, mammogram, biopsy, MRI, lumpectomy procedure, office visits and consultations have totaled about $5,000 out of pocket (even with insurance). A mastectomy, breast reconstruction and physical therapy will be an additional $5,000. Even with the support of her job and saved vacation days, Jenny may also need to take unpaid time off to recover. To support her, we are raising money to help go towards her medical expenses and items needed for recovery.
We know that with the stresses of this past year, not everyone is in a place to help financially. If not, we appreciate your love and support! Please continue to pray, text, call, DM, and send any good vibes her way as they have given her so much strength during a very difficult time. Jenny has also committed to donating any extra funds raised to The Breast Cancer Fundraiser (https://www.thebreastcancerfundraiser.org/) which provides WeCare packages to newly diagnosed women, and whose members are part of her survivors support group in Denver. Jenny is loved by so many, and as her friends & family, we are so grateful for your support!
Sincerely,
Friends of Jenny Jones
