In the early hours of Sunday, April 12th, Jenny and Abby Bethea were awakened by police pounding on their door, urging them to evacuate their apartment in the Georgetown area of Savannah, GA. A fire had started in a separate unit and was quickly engulfing the rest of the building. Jenny and Abby had to flee with only the clothes on their backs, their sweet cat, and a few items grabbed as they raced out the door. Literally everything else they owned is gone - destroyed by the fire!
I've known Jenny forever, first as my student at Savannah Christian and now as my friend. Jenny is a selfless, single mom and healthcare worker who cares for cancer patients at a local hospital's cancer center. She's always the one helping others, and now she needs our help. Abby, her daughter, is currently a junior at Savannah Christian. Their loss is unimaginable, as they face the daunting task of starting over from scratch. All funds raised go directly to Jenny and Abby to help with temporary housing, clothing, groceries, toiletries, housewares, and essentials. Any support you can offer will help them rebuild and remind them they’re not alone. I would also love it if you could please, please share this fundraiser to help spread the word.
NOTE: The tip on the donation page does not go to Jenny. It goes to GoFundMe in addition to their fee, but is optional. It can be adjusted with the slider bar.
