Greetings friends and family,
My name is Marissa Neuer and I am the daughter of Jenni (Dunn) Baker. Along with my mom’s close friends, Lorie (Herzog) Baumgardner and Lora (Fischer) Cushard, we have started this fundraising page to help lift the financial burden off her shoulders so she can focus on fighting this terrible disease.
Jenni was diagnosed in early 2025 with late stage ovarian cancer. Jenni has always been a source of light and support to those around her. She has dedicated her life to helping others as a Kansas clinical PTSD therapist, bringing comfort, strength, and healing to so many. Now, she is facing one of the toughest challenges imaginable—advanced ovarian cancer that has spread throughout her body. She has endured countless types of chemotherapy and surgery, but unfortunately, they have not been successful. In hopes of finding a new path forward, she will begin a clinical trial at K.U. Medical Center on April 13.
This diagnosis has turned her world upside down, and the financial strain from medical bills, treatment costs, and living expenses has become overwhelming. Our goal is to help cover these essential costs so Jenni can focus fully on her treatment and recovery. Despite everything she is going through, my mom remains determined to continue helping others, even as she fights her own battle. That’s who she is—selfless, strong, and deeply committed to making a difference.
Any funds raised beyond our goal will be donated to ovarian cancer research, so that others may benefit from advancements in treatment and care. Common signs of Ovarian Cancer include frequent urination, persistent abdominal bloating, stomach distension, changes in bowel habits, lower back pain, low energy, feeling full after eating very little and changes in appetite.
