Jenna Rose Moore was a vibrant 3-year-old, known for her endless fist bumps and her infectious smile. She would light up every room, often almost running people over with her gait trainer, and she amazed everyone by learning over 300 ASL signs. Jenna overcame so much in her short life—she spent 141 days in the NICU and 63 days in the PICU to get her trach, and she conquered her trach journey in under three years, recently being decannulated in March. She loved the colors purple and yellow, adored Ms. Rachel, and was famous in the hospital for her beautiful personality and her tye dye Billie shoes, and her ability to fist bump anyone she chose—including top doctors and executive administration. She was pretty famous :)
Jenna passed away in her sleep on April 28th, leaving her family and community in shock and deep grief. Her mother, Autumn, is the cofounder of Chattanooga Trach Families, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and advocating for children with trachs. Autumn and Josh have devoted their lives to helping others, and now they are facing the unimaginable loss of their beloved daughter.
There is an amazing nonprofit helping cover funeral arrangements, so the funds raised will help Autumn and Josh with all the other expenses of being with family and taking time to grieve. Jenna's family has been forever changed by the love and support of the trach and hospital communities as well as all their friends and family in Summerville, especially at Ridgeway Baptist Church. Any support you can offer to help them through this heartbreaking time is deeply appreciated.
