After a few difficult weeks of tests and appointments, Jeff Conradi and his family recently found out that Jeff's cancer(cholangiocarcinoma) is back, not in his liver where it was 5 years ago but now metastasized in a different location. The board of oncologists and Jeff's former doctors at Mayo Clinic have determined that this Stage IV cancer cannot be cured but it can be treated. Surgery to remove the cancer is not an option, due to the extensive side effects.
Jeff begins treatment on December 23 and will undergo 12 weeks of weekly chemo before he has additional scans to see whether the chemo is working. After 12 weeks the doctors will assess whether chemotherapy should be continued, or if radiation can be performed to reduce the tumor size.
Jeff is a kind, quiet, loving man who has worked so hard to support his family and friends during their own rough patches. He is a husband, father, grandfather of 6 (including two new ones born this year), and friend. This is our opportunity to give back to the man who has given us so much.
