On April 30th, Jeannie suffered a fatal accident, resulting in an unrecoverable brain injury which tragically took her life in the early morning hours of May 1sr, 2026. Jeannie bravely fought ovarian cancer for nearly two decades, and only at such a time as she'd been told that there was no hope beyond a 6-month life expectancy was all of her treatment halted and she was able to become pregnant with her "miracle baby", Fiona, a now 13-year-old honor student.
Over the next decade, Jeannie bravely put herself through school while undergoing aggressive cancer treatment and graduated Summa Cum Laude as the first person in her family to complete college.
Jeannie loved butterflies but was afraid of bees. Her power animal was a lion and she embodied that pride and strength in all her endeavors. She was a light in every room with her brilliant smile and infectious laugh. She was goofy, silly, resilient, and beautiful, all traits she has passed on to her young daughter, her driving force, her "mini me", Fiona, who is now left to navigate life with only her memory, but without the mother who sacrificed everything to be the devoted parent everyone knew her to be.
In the wake of this sudden, mournful event, her family is navigating the final costs of putting her to rest. Her body was donated to science in the hopes that her struggles can be used to benefit students and research to hopefully one day put an end to related suffering. Even in the face of this selfless choice, there are staggering costs for which no one was fully prepared. All donations will be directly attributed to these final costs and any additional funds will be placed in a trust for Fiona's future.
Please feel comfortable to share on all (social media) platforms with the family's blessing. Peace to all.
