Support for Jeanette's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and members of the Durango community,

We are reaching out to you to rally together and support our dear friend Jeanette Wages. On Sunday, July 23rd, Jeanette, a beloved figure in the Durango community, experienced a harrowing event that has since reshaped her life. While enjoying a ride on her Harley motorcycle along 8th Avenue in downtown Durango, she fell victim to a hit-and-run accident. Because of the immense severity of her injuries, she was immediately airlifted to St. Anthony's Hospital, a premier Level 1 trauma center in Lakewood, Colorado.

Jeanette has undergone a series of extensive reconstructive surgeries, primarily focused on her upper and lower extremities. Unfortunately, the severity of the damage necessitated the amputation of her lower left leg below the knee during the most recent procedure. She will be transferred to a rehabilitation center in the coming weeks to begin the long road to recovery with more surgeries anticipated in the coming months and an uncertain timeline for her recovery process.

Jeanette's resilience in the face of adversity is a testament to her character, one that has been molded over her 30-year-long relationship with the Durango community. She was the first leader of the Ladies of Harley which is an extension of the H.O.G. Chapter which she led for 11 years. She's a devoted mother and grandmother; an accomplished real estate agent at The Wells Group Real Estate Brokerage, known for her determination and passion; a cherished friend; and above all a badass Harley chick.

Now, it is our turn to come together and provide the support she needs as she embarks on a long and challenging road to healing and recovery. She will require extensive medical treatments, physical therapy, and specialized equipment to regain her independence and adapt to her new circumstances. These expenses, combined with the loss of income during her recovery period, create a significant financial burden for her and her family. We are humbly asking for your support in any way you can. Your generous donations will go directly towards covering medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and any other unforeseen expenses that may arise during her recovery. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful impact.

Beyond financial assistance, we also ask for your thoughts, prayers, and positive energy as Jeanette faces the challenges ahead. Let us come together as a community and show our love and support. Your contribution, whether it be financial or emotional, will make a world of difference in her healing and recovery process.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Together, we can help Jeanette navigate this difficult journey and ensure she feels the love and support of her community every step of the way.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Jeanette's Family, Friends and Supporters
