In November of 2025, I received the devastating news that I have terminal cancer. The doctors told me that without the highest doses of chemotherapy, I would have only six months to live. Unfortunately, it was too late for radiation, and the cancer had already spread from my head and neck to my bones, lung, and liver. After several rounds, I was taken off chemotherapy and started on immunotherapy. The new therapy is expected to prolong my life for about a year, giving me precious extra time with my loved ones.
This journey has been incredibly difficult, not just physically and emotionally, but also financially. I am facing significant medical bills, and my mother had to cover expenses out of pocket before my insurance took effect. My family and friends have been my rock, caring for me every step of the way, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
I am reaching out to ask for any help you can give. Your support would mean the world to me, my family, and the friends who have become like family. If you are able, please consider sharing this fundraiser on your social media, website, or with your church community. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and understanding during this challenging time. God bless you all. - JD Hicks
