Support for Jason's Cancer Journey

In May of 2024, my husband Jason was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Since that day, our lives have been turned upside down. Jason and I have been married for nearly 29 years. We have four incredible children, two of whom are still in high school. Throughout our marriage, Jason has been our family’s sole provider while I’ve stayed home to raise our kids. Our extended family all lives out of state, so we’ve been walking this road mostly on our own.

For almost two years, Jason has fought this disease with courage and determination. He has endured 28 rounds of chemotherapy and a 25 day course of radiation.  He has had a liver resection and two separate bowel resection surgeries, one of which nearly took his life in August of 2024.  Unfortunately, his cancer is no longer responding to chemo, and surgery is now no longer an option. We are now facing something we never imagined — worrying not just about Jason’s health, but about how we will continue to cover our rising expenses as his fight gets harder.

We are asking for help to cover medical bills and other needs as we navigate this next phase. Jason is self-employed, so there is no sick pay or paid time off when he is unable to work. We also carry private health insurance, which is costly and includes a high annual deductible. These factors have made this season especially challenging for our family. If Jason is accepted into a clinical trial outside of Arizona, we will also need assistance with travel and lodging expenses. Asking for help is not easy for us. We have always tried to handle things on our own. But right now, we are in a place where we truly need support. Your generosity will allow us to focus on what matters most: Jason’s care, our children, and the time we have together. If you are unable to give financially, we deeply appreciate your prayers. We believe in the power of prayer and are holding onto hope for healing. We believe that God is a God of miracles. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with our family during this incredibly difficult time.

With love and gratitude,
Keira
