Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am one of Jason’s many children. In June of this year, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Single-Cell Carcinoma cancer. Since his diagnosis, our lives have changed in ways we never could have imagined. When I asked if I could set up this fundraiser, Dad was reluctant, especially near the holiday season. He has spent his life helping others survive, guiding people through claiming benefits, and encouraging those who felt shame in asking for help. Now, he finds himself on the other side, needing support. He has applied for assistance, but there is a waiting period, so his need, we hope, is temporary.
Jason has already gone through radiation and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Throughout this journey, our family and friends have stepped up in truly incredible ways—providing rides to appointments, preparing meals, and offering constant care, love, and support. We are deeply grateful for every person who has shown up for him and for our family during this difficult time. Unfortunately, despite this outpouring of help, the financial burden continues to grow. The frequent and lengthy drives to chemotherapy appointments, unexpected dietary needs, and the cost of home and vehicle repairs have created expenses that we simply cannot keep up with on our own. Tasks my father once handled himself now must be outsourced due to the physical toll of treatment, adding yet another layer of cost.
This fundraiser is meant to help bridge that gap and relieve some of the financial stress so my father can focus fully on his health and recovery. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward transportation for treatment, essential dietary needs, and necessary home and vehicle repairs. From the bottom of our family’s heart: THANK YOU.
