Hello, my name is Jason Holland. I'm raising funds for my significant other, Robin Seaforth, and me because our home has been ruined by the flooding in Burlington from Gages Slough.
We lived in an RV at the storage yard for Puget Sound Utilities owner Jeff Hamrick. The flash flood took us by surprise. We did not have time to move much out. We still have a few feet of water left in the driveway, making it difficult to salvage any belongings. The water level reached almost 10 feet on the property, flooding out our motorhome and vehicles. Now, we are trying to find another RV to live in.
I do have a job; I am the superintendent for O'Brien Construction located in Mukilteo, Washington. I am trying to do this on my own, but it is very hard because of a government garnishment of $500 per paycheck every 2 weeks. I am being garnished for an audit from 2022 when my significant other and I, along with 3 other friends, tried to start a construction business, Squatch Construction, which is no longer in business because of Washington's taxes. Our business was in operation for 3 years until the Department of Labor and Industries audited us, saying we hired employees, which we proved to be false. So then they fined us $7,000 for not keeping good enough records, which H&R Block said we did good record keeping.
I am not asking for a handout; I'm asking for a hand up.
