Support for Jasmine Hill

Dear friends and family,

My name is Faith Vanik and I’m one of Jasmine Hill’s neighbors. Jasmine and her mother, brother, and daughter, (Jennell, Brian, and Noel (7 years old) are like family to my husband Paul and I.

In 2017, Jasmine was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 27. This resulted in very extensive treatment including a double mastectomy and ongoing chemo and therapy. The cancer went into remission after a very long, hard battle, but in July 2020, we found out the cancer returned through her lungs. 3 lumps were found in her lymph nodes.

Jasmine had to stop working and begin chemo and treatment all over again. This past December, we thought she was in remission; however, she began having some strange symptoms in January. For months, we thought it was her MS acting up (yes, she also fights this horrible disease on top of cancer). But after she became unresponsive one morning several weeks ago, she was rushed to the ER. The doctors began running tests, and after many consults between the entirety of the medical staff, MRI’s, PET scans, and more, a brain biopsy finally revealed that the cancer has spread to Jasmine’s brain. She has over 100 lesions in her brain.

Thankfully, the doctors are saying this is treatable with radiation and chemo. And more than that, we serve a God who is more powerful than any treatment. More than anything, we are trusting that.

As you can imagine, this has been beyond difficult, grievous, and painful for our sweet family next door.

In addition to praying, one way we can help during this time is helping with the financial burden. Jennell (Jasmine’s mother) works full time to help provide for Jasmine and the rest of the family. There are many financial needs they currently have. If you are able to contribute financially, your contribution could help to cover any of the following: medical treatments that insurance does not cover, medical equipment for the home, money for Lyfts to get to and from treatment, money for meals, etc.
