Our beloved mom, Janet, is nearing the end of her courageous battle with cancer. While our hearts are breaking, our focus is on making sure her final days are filled with the love of her family.

Janet dedicated her life to helping others. She was passionate about educating people about the outdoors, especially through the West Virginia Trappers Association, where she spent many years teaching, mentoring, and serving the trapping community. Her commitment and leadership led her to become a past president of the association. If you knew Janet, you know she was always willing to give her time, knowledge, and heart to help someone else.

For nearly the past year, I have had the privilege of being Mom's full-time caregiver. To be there for her, I made the difficult decision to leave my job, and every dollar I had saved has gone toward caring for her and helping her through this journey. I would make that same decision again without hesitation because there is nowhere else I would have wanted to be.

As we prepare to say goodbye, we are facing not only funeral and memorial expenses, but also the financial burden of family members traveling long distances to be with Mom in her final days, missing work, and covering lodging, meals, and other unexpected costs. Right now, our only wish is to spend every possible moment together without worrying about how we will pay for everything that comes next.

Asking for help is one of the hardest things our family has ever done. We have always been proud people who believe in working hard and taking care of our own. But sometimes life brings challenges that are simply bigger than one family can carry alone.
