Janel Lapenias and the Mora Family are beloved members of our school community. I met Janel about eight years ago when our kids started kindergarten together. Over the years, we have grown close, helping each other out with the kids and becoming good friends. Janel has always been an active volunteer, dedicating her time to school activities and coaching girls volleyball. Her commitment to her daughters is unwavering—she spends countless hours driving them to practices, games, and tournaments, ensuring they stay active and engaged. Janel's selflessness shines through in everything she does, always going above and beyond to support those around her and make sure everyone is well taken care of.

Recently, tragedy struck when a fire broke out in their home while they were away returning from an Easter break trip. The damage was devastating, leaving their home uninhabitable and forcing Janel and the family to seek temporary shelter. In addition to losing their home, they now face the challenge of replacing essential belongings such as clothing and other necessities. This unexpected hardship has placed a tremendous burden on the family, and they need our help to get back on their feet.
