My name is Tillia Barnes. I am 36 years old and a mother of three children. Recently, my only son, Jamonta’e Barnes, was taken from me. On May 24, 2026, he was tragically murdered at Irene Thomas Park in Hinesville, Georgia. Jamonta’e was truly loved by me, our family, and everyone who knew him. He was loving, funny, brave, caring, and always full of life. No matter what, that was my baby, and losing him has left a pain that words cannot explain.

As a mother, I never imagined I would have to say goodbye to my child so soon. The grief our family is experiencing is overwhelming, and we are trying to find strength in each other and in the support of our community. Jamonta’e touched so many lives with his kindness and his bright spirit. His memory will always live on in our hearts, and we want to honor him in the best way we can.

During this heartbreaking time, I am coming to my community asking for support. Any money raised will go toward Jamonta’e’s funeral service and expenses after the service.
