Last Friday, our lives changed in an instant when Jamie suffered a stroke. He is now home with us, but he’s wheelchair bound for the foreseeable future. The doctors discovered a blockage in his brain that caused the stroke, and unfortunately, it’s getting bigger according to a recent MRI. We’re still waiting to find out what the next steps will be for his treatment, and the uncertainty is overwhelming.
With Jamie unable to work and no insurance to help cover the mounting medical bills, our family is suddenly without any income. We’ve applied for insurance, but it will take time to be approved. In the meantime, life and bills don’t stop. We’re struggling to keep up with daily living expenses, utilities, and any medical needs that come up. On top of that, our only working vehicle is a straight drive, which I can’t drive, so we’re hoping to find an inexpensive vehicle to help us get to appointments and run errands.
As some know, I got sick in October and have been undergoing treatment while preparing for surgery in February. This has been a difficult journey for our family, and the last thing we ever expected was for something even more challenging to happen. Jamie has taken care of me through my sickness, and now I need to take care of him.
We never thought we would be the ones on here asking for help. This is the absolute last thing we want to do, but right now, it’s our only option. Any support you can give—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story—means the world to us. Thank you for being there for our family during this difficult time.
